About Us

The information contained within the confines of this hallowed space will be focused on the local TSTNV congregation. For more in-depth information about TST, TST Satanism, and what TST is all about, we strongly encourage you to visit www.thesatanictemple.com.

The Satanic Temple Nevada (TSTNV) is a local congregation of The Satanic Temple (TST), a non-theistic Satanic religious organization and IRS recognized church. We are a self-organized, self-funded, and volunteer-led group. Nevada started back in early 2019 and has been growing fast ever since! The core group is primarily located in the greater Las Vegas Area but is projected to also include the rest of the state as need grows. Group activities include meeting like-minded individuals at monthly book clubs, fundraising events, various social events, as well as private and public rituals.

We are not an activist organization or parody/troll group. The Satanic Temple is a real religion with congregations, ordained ministers, and an ethos deeply rooted in the 7 tenets of TST. We take our religion and mission very seriously. We seek to cultivate and provide a safe space for our members in which we mutually support each other in our own personal journeys.

Our lives are guided by the Seven Fundamental Tenets of The Satanic Temple

I. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason.

II. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.

III. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.

IV. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo your own.

V. Beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.

VI. People are fallible. If we make a mistake, we should do our best to rectify it and resolve any harm that may have been caused.

VII. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.

As a Congregation we share TST’s core beliefs and mission.

The mission of TST is to encourage benevolence and empathy among all people, reject tyrannical authority, advocate practical common sense and justice, and be directed by the human conscience to undertake noble pursuits guided by the individual will. Politically aware, civic-minded Satanists and allies in TST have publicly opposed The Westboro Baptist Church, advocated on behalf of children in public school to abolish corporal punishment, applied for equal representation where religious monuments are placed on public property, provided religious exemption and legal protection against laws that unscientifically restrict women’s reproductive autonomy, exposed fraudulent harmful pseudo-scientific practitioners and claims in mental health care, and applied to hold clubs alongside other religious after school clubs in schools besieged by proselytizing organizations.

Do you worship Satan?

Nope! We are non-theistic and choose instead to root ourselves in reality; holding beliefs based on logic and reason. We do not believe in a literal devil, god figure, or deity of any sort.

Why Satan?

Satan is a symbol. Satan, the first to oppose arbitrary authority, rejecting blind obdience and authority in defense of personal sovereignties. We view Satan as a social construct and acknowledge blasphemy as a legitimate expression of personal independence
from counter-productive traditional norms.

What about magic and miracles?

We believe religion should be divorced from superstition. We reject pseudoscience and supernaturalism. We must embrace rational inquiry, critical thinking skills, and remain malleable to world as we know it. Science is constantly having breakthroughs which give us a more clear picture of reality. We must take heed to never fall prey to putting fiction before fact.

What about a bible?

The Satanic Temple does not have any sacred book or scripture and we do not adhere to The Satanic Bible. We do have a suggested reading list that provides some illumination on the philosophical origins of our beliefs in which you can find at The Satanic Temple Library

When one of us thrives, we all thrive.

As an organized religion it is our obligation to actively provide outreach, lead by example, and to facilitate noble actions wheresoever issues are realized that could benefit from our rational and Satanic participation. As Satanists we are guided by our consciences and individual will. Collectively we believe our actions can inspire hope and drive change that will benefit humanity and move us towards a brighter future. Only when we are all able to come together as a whole can we truly move towards a better tomorrow.
